Four Takeaways from the Theme Cars R Us Auto Show

After months of planning and preparation, Caped Cruisaders made their first Live debut at the Theme Cars R Us Auto show in Atlanta Georgia which was held at Andretti Indoor Karting and Games. The energy of those in attendance were unmatched as well as their rides. Proud car owners from Georgia and out of state drove miles to attend a car show that was different from the rest. A show geared for those who love comics, movies and all things pop culture to display these passions on their cars like a canvas. They did not disappoint as we witnessed over 70 cars gather for the event. Among those sponsoring the event were Allstate, Extreme Customz, and Tire Kingz of Georgia. In addition, Black Pearl Showboards who hosted The After Dark Light Show.

The Caped Cruisaders team was also in attendance where we hosted our very first live versus event which was a major success. Our first Versus was between a Harley Quinn themed Hyundai and the Holy Ghost dedicated Dodge Charger who were selected to participate randomly from the Theme Cars R Us VIP list, via our instagram Live. It was a close competition but the Harley Quinn themed car took home the grand prize and bragging rights. Our second Versus competition was a Caped Crusaders selected match up, 2 cars from the VIP list we felt had the most competitive potential at the show, World of Warcraft themed Hyundai and the Saw themed Camaro. Each car put up a fight, but it was the Saw Camaro that took the win and the glory. Votes poured in from those present at the show as well as our online viewers via Instagram stories. If you would like to participate in a future Live Versus event, follow us on Instagram to keep up with our show appearances.

Cruz’ of Caped Cruisaders also appeared as a guest judge for the show along with Themes Cars R Us judges. Awards such as best interior, best display, best male/female among many others were determined by the judging team. Congratulations to all of the Car show winners and winners of our first Live Versus.

The show was full of excitement and surprises. Here are our four biggest takeaways from the event.

  1. A dynamic display makes all the difference.

It’s not only enough to have a themed ride. A display that compliments your ride is a great way to express your dedication and passion for your themed car. The Saw Camaro turned heads with fake blood, and body parts on a contrasting stark white carpet surrounding his car. To really set the tone, audio from the movie played from the stereo as he rolled into the show, terrifying as ever. Saw Camaro took home the award for best display, and I think we can all agree it was well deserved. As previously mentioned, he was also one of the Caped Cruisaders Live Versus winners. It was a good day for horror.

  1. Cars with a message remind us of what’s really important.

Several vehicles in attendance were there to do more than win, they came with a message. the owner of the holy ghost themed car has dedicated his Dodge Charger to spreading the good news of Christ, reminding those who admire the car to put on the full armor of God.

Heroez Everywhere wants to remind everyone that it is all about the children. Heroez Everywhere is a nonprofit donation based children's organization who believes in "Creating memorable moments that will last a lifetime."

3. Big entrances don’t disappoint.

Atlanta's elite car club, the "Atlanta Street Xecs" showed up in style and surprised everyone as they pulled up with an explosion of colors and roaring engines. The color and sound could be heard throughout the venue as everyone rushed to the entrance to see the well known car club make their big entrance. They stopped everyone in their tracks and definitely stole the show.

4. Cosplay is always a big hit.

Cosplayers at the event were a hit as they stepped into the shoes of their favorite characters and movies. They showed up and showed out, as kids and adult kids alike enjoyed taking pictures and interacting with characters they admire. Smiles were seen across the board as we witnessed spidermen from multiple universes, ghostbusters, and world of warcraft characters. Cosplay has a way of bringing everyone together, putting wonder in the eyes of children, and bringing the child out in adults.
